ABSTRACT
Operators of coal-fired power plants with carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) can provide energy for (CO2) by increasing coal input (option i) or reducing electricity output ii). Under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), does a flexible option exist in future to capturing CO2? In this study, we use representative plant China (600 MW) as case study assess options be implemented corresponding economic performance emission reductions CCS. Both Monte Carlo simulation net present value (NPV) methods are used study. The results show that yield an average NPV is 57.36 48.07 million Chinese Yuan more than values i ii, respectively, during three crediting periods. Additionally, implementation improve reduction effect CCS promote optimization systems. priority expanding positive effects international climate change policy negotiators policymakers formulate stricter policies high certified price. addition, good communication coordination mechanism between administration system required ensure efficient options.
