ABSTRACT
The reduction of high concentrations NOX and SO2 has been studied for the simulation removal from off-gases generated by diesel engines in which heavy fuel oil is usually used. combination electron beam (EB) a wet scrubber method proved to be very promising this purpose. In work, we investigated under EB with application NaClO, NaClO2, or NaClO3 as an oxidant two different solutions, phosphate buffer (Na2HPO4–KH2PO4)–simulated sea water solution NaOH–simulated solution. concentration was 5 mM. NaOH 7 Compared performance NO three oxidants, NaClO2 gave best efficiency. For inlet gas set at 1000 ppm dose 10.9 kGy, reaches maximum 95.03% efficiency, while NaClO reached 49.84% efficiency 54.25% results show that chosen series oxidants have potential applied engine. example, they could used on cargo ships, generate large amounts combustion contains sulphur nitrogen.
