ABSTRACT
Our study used multilevel regression analysis to identify individual- and neighbourhood-level factors that determine individual-level subjective well-being in Rhini, a deprived suburb of Grahamstown the Eastern Cape province South Africa. The Townsend index Gini coefficient were investigate whether contextual differences socioeconomic status determined well-being. Crime experience, health status, social capital, demographic variables assessed at individual level. indicators estimated with two-level random-intercepts fixed slopes model. Social marital (all p < .001), followed by income level (p .01) score .05) significantly related outcomes. findings showed is influenced as measured deprivation score. Individuals reported higher levels less neighbourhoods. Here we wish highlight role context for well-being, suggest outcomes may also be defined ecological terms. We hope are useful implementing programs interventions designed achieve greater people living areas.
