Research hotspots and development trends in volume management of peritoneal dialysis patients: a bibliometrics and visual analysis up to 2022

Abstract Objectives Among different renal replacement therapies (RRTs), peritoneal dialysis (PD) is a family based treatment method with multiple advantages, which allowing patients to maintain autonomy, avoiding frequent hospital visits, and preventing the spread of disease virus. To visually analyze literatures related volume management PD through bibliometric methods, explore research hotspots development trends in this field. Methods The relevant patient Web Science core collection database were retrieved terms dialysis, management, capacity fluid status, overload. retrieval time was from establishment October 2022. CiteSpace 6.1.R3 software used Country, Institution, Author, Keyword, draw keyword clusters emergence maps. Results A total 788 articles included analysis, annual number papers on rise, American, China, Brirain top three, Peking University College London top. Keywords cluster analysis showed 11 clusters. In keywords higher intensity rank are continuous cyclic ambulatory icodextrin. current evaluation patients’ selection adjustment prescriptions, adverse health outcomes. Conclusion China started late, but it has developed rapidly, firm grasp hotspots. However, there less cooperation other countries, so international exchanges should be strengthened. At present, assessment methods modes still hotspots, paying more attention outcomes patients.
