ABSTRACT
The eastern Tibetan plateau has been getting more and attention because it combines active faults, uplifting, large earthquakes together in a high-population region. Based on the previous researches, most of Cenozoic tectonic activities were related to regional structure local blocks within crustal scale. Thus, better understanding is an important topic for further study. In this paper, we combined simple Bouguer gravity anomaly with Moho depths from studies investigate area. To highlight structures, caused by relief reduced forward modeling calculations. A total horizontal derivative (THD) had applied residuals. results indicated that residual compatible topography geological settings blocks, including Sichuan basin, Chuxiong Xiaojiang fault, Jinhe as well Longmenshan fault zone. THD emphasized west margin Yangtze block, i.e., Longriba zone cut through block. checkboard pattern Songpan-Garze fold belt Chuandian fragment shows crust undergoing southward SE-directed extrusion, which coincident flowing direction GPS measurements. By integrating interpretations, stepwise extensional mechanism supported southeastward deformation, extrusion achieved Xianshuihe fault.
