ABSTRACT
In this study, a new safer and faster intragastric balloon procedure was also employed to treat pre-obese patients (body mass index (BMI) < 30).From June 2006 2009, 20 such were submitted the Silimed Gastric Balloon treatment, as part of multidisciplinary program involving clinical, psychological, behavioral approaches. For 16 who had completed 5-6-month initial mean weight BMI 74 kg 27.5 kg/m(2), respectively. After values decreased significantly 65.9 24.5 respectively. There only minor complications--nausea vomiting--with exception two cases spontaneous deflation devices which successfully removed by gastric endoscopy. Thus, preliminary data suggest that might be safe effective treatment for loss in patients.
