ABSTRACT
Sarcoidosis is a rare granulomatous disease that can affect any organ. It leads to an increased risk of metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance, due biochemical pathways involved in low-grade inflammation both diseases. The aim our retrospective case-control study was evaluate the utility triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, surrogate for assessment sarcoidosis patients. A cohort 90 patients control subjects were enrolled. Clinical, anamnestic, data collected. Results showed TyG index values higher than group (p < 0.001), even after excluding influence diabetes = 0.018). In cohort, not correlated with clinical phenotyping 0.358), gender 0.139), radiological stage 0.656), glucocorticoids cumulative dose 0.682) or treatment regimen 0.093), while significant positive correlations waist circumference systolic diastolic pressure 0.041 p 0.029, respectively), Framingham score 0.007) found. Receiving operating characteristics curve analysis identified optimal cut-off value 8.64 (66.7% sensitivity, 77.8% specificity, area under -AUC- 75%, 95% confidence interval -CI- 65-85, 0.001) detect 8.69 (64.1% 70.6% specificity; AUC 67%, CI 55-78, intermediate cardiovascular according score. Concluding, be considered useful tool patients, given its capacity predict risk.
