ABSTRACT
Abstract Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a collective term that describes different isomers of with conjugated double bonds. Although the main dietary isomer 9 cis ,11 trans ‐18∶2, which present in dairy products and ruminant fat, biological effects CLA generally have been studied using mixtures ‐ 10 ,12 ‐18∶2 were at similar levels. In work, we impact each (9 ‐18∶2) given separately diet rats for 6 wk. The decreased triacylglycerol content liver (−32%) increased 18∶0 expense 18∶1n−9, suggesting an alteration Δ9 desaturase activity, as was already demonstrated vitro . This not observed when diet. Moreover, induced increase C 22 polyunsaturated fatty acids lipids. mainly metabolized into 16∶2 18∶3, identified. preferentially 20∶3 isomer. Thus, ‐CLA are differently distinct on metabolism rat while altering triglyceride levels differentially.
