Abstract The influence of individual conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) isomers on the Δ6 desaturation and α‐linolenic acids Δ9 stearic was investigated in vitro , using rat liver microsomes. 18∶2n−6 decreased from 23 to 38% when ratio 9 cis ,11 trans ‐18∶2 increased 0.5 2. compound 10 ,12 exhibited a similar effect only at highest concentration. slightly affected by presence CLA isomers. sole isomer induce an inhibitory ‐18∶2.
