ABSTRACT
Abstract The behavior of a chemical tanker (CT) in extreme waves was discussed detail, that is, terms rigid body heave and pitch motions, vertical bending moments (VBMs) amidships, green water, slamming impacts through the analysis experimental data from model tests. Regular wave tests conducted for two steepness showed increase caused asymmetry between hogging sagging contribution water on deck to decrease moments. Random uncertainty statistical values irregular with various seeds revealed slight uncertainties motions VBMs slightly higher errors pressure peaks. With forward speed, pressures at bow increased. Breather solutions nonlinear Schrödinger equation applied generate tailored certain critical wavelengths good performance ship response, it further verified CT.
