ABSTRACT
Thunbergia erecta L. contains cytotoxic and liver-protective compounds. leaves were macerated in 70% aqueous ethanol, then fractionated with ethyl acetate (9.3 g) butanol (12.7 g), attenuated Den-induced liver cancer a Wistar rat experimental model. Ethyl fractions chromatographed using column chromatography solid-phase extraction (SPE); Vicenin-II (1), kaempferol (2), biochanin A, sissotrin 7-O-β-glucopyranoside (3), gentianose (4), acacetin (5), apigenin (6), rosmarinic acid (7) extracted, their structures determined NMR spectroscopy ESI-mass spectrometry. Sixty rats divided into six groups (ten each): control group, Den doxorubicin/Den-treated fraction/Den-treated isolated 7-O-β-glucopyranoside/Den-treated group. The enzymes proinflammatory biomarkers used to estimate the function. In addition, tissues collected for analysis of oxidative stress markers, gene expression, histopathology. There is significant increase levels enzymes, AFP, TNF-ἁ. This was conveyed by IL-1 caspase-3, elevation MDA reduction GSH, suppression Bcl2 Bax expression. All parameters butanol, fractions, (major constituents) T. significantly improved values close those
