Clinical Profile of Swine Flu in Children at Puducherry

ABSTRACT
To study the clinical profile and outcome of children screened diagnosed for Swine flu at a tertiary care hospital.All Children with suspicion swine infection attending our hospital during epidemic from August 2009 through January 2010 were categorized into A, B C as per guidelines National Health family welfare. Patients in Category A advised home quarantine, tested treated ostelamivir hospitalized.Among 424 cases flu, 79 age group 0-12 years (18.6%). The median presentation was 5 years. belonging to 43(54.4%), 31(39.2%) 5(6.3%). Out that screened, 19 confirmed positive H1N1 infection(30.2%).Out 8 category (42%), eight (42%) five (26.3%).During puducherry, majority mild symptoms. Home quarantine preventive measures found be far more important than testing treating Oseltamivir.
