All-solid anti-resonant single crystal fibers

ABSTRACT
In this paper, a novel all-solid anti-resonant single crystal fiber (AR-SCF) with high refractive index tubes cladding is proposed. By producing the material, AR guiding mechanism can be realized for SCF, which reduce mode number to achieve single-mode or few-mode transmission. The influences of different materials and structures on confinement loss effective guided wavelengths 2-3 μm are investigated. Then, optimal AR-SCF determined. Furthermore, fabrication errors analyzed. This work would provide insight new opportunities in design SCFs by AR, greatly impact fields laser application, supercontinum generation, SCF sensors.
