ABSTRACT
In this paper, we present a decay equation for paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP) toxins using long-term field data spanning more than 10 years in order to predict the detoxification period scallop Patinopecten yessoensis Ofunato Bay, Japan. From data, obtained date of maximum toxicity digestive gland (DG) and then detoxification. Next, performed linear regression analysis between loge-toxicities days after level each study year. Toxicity declined at rate 1.5 %/day, 3–9 months was required achieve 20 mouse units (MU)/g DG tissue, which is critical determining monitoring frequency area toxicity. We estimated number needed reach MU/g tissue (t 20) equations by above-mentioned analysis, another loge (maximum toxicity) t The difference actual predicted time ranged from −16 18 days. conclude that these can be used depuration PSP scallops Bay.
