Abstract Potato late blight, caused by Phytophthora infestans , is a critical disease of potato and other solanaceous crops, such as tomato. The history blight is, in some ways, the modern plant pathology. It received much attention mid 1800’s causing Irish famine, pathogen played prominent role development concept pathogens. pathosystem has also been important pesticides that are active against pathogens, model system understanding concepts ranging from cellular processes, how resistance to pathogens functions, large scale implementation regional warning systems. P.infestans secured place production, both developed less-developed countries.
