ABSTRACT
Abstract In the last decades, vanadium alloyed coatings have been introduced as potential candidates for self-lubrication due to their perfect tribological properties. this work, influence of V incorporation on wear performance and oxidation resistance TiSiN/CrN film deposited by direct current (DC) reactive magnetron sputtering is investigated. The results show that significantly decreases coatings. general, two layers are formed during process: i) Ti(V)O 2 top, followed a protective layer, which subdivided into layers, Cr O 3 Si-O. ii) diffusion controls V-containing addition improves coatings, rate with increasing content in coatings; however, friction coefficient independent chemical composition driven polishing wear.
