ABSTRACT
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a highly heterogeneous disease, making the prognostic prediction challenging. Ferroptosis, an iron-dependent form of cell death, key regulator in initiation, progression, and metastasis HCC. However, expression function ferroptosis-related genes (FRGs) HCC remained largely unclear. In this study, we analyzed TCGA datasets identified 58 survival-related deferentially expressed FRGs (DE-FRGs). Then, based on results LASSO analysis, developed novel model 12 DE-FRGs. Survival assays indicated strong ability new predicting clinical prognosis patients. addition, conducted exploration molecular subtypes related to delved into associated immune characteristics gene patterns. Among DE-FRGs, our attention focused ABHD12 (abhydrolase domain containing 12) which was with advanced stages. Multivariate confirmed that significant factor for Immune analysis revealed may play important role tumor microenvironment. Finally, performed RT-PCR cells. Functional experiments knockdown suppress proliferation migration These findings emphasized significance as potential marker its crucial field biology. Additionally, study introduces survival holds promise enhancing predictions Overall, research provided valuable insights deeper comprehension complexity development personalized treatment strategies.
