ABSTRACT
Abstract The corresponding hemodynamic changes of the internal carotid artery (ICA) after revascularization surgery for moyamoya disease (MMD) remain unclear. aim this study was to analyze ipsilateral ICA combined direct and indirect extracranial-intracranial (EC-IC) bypass. MMD patients undergoing EC-IC bypass were retrospectively reviewed. mean transit time (MTT) evaluated by color-coding angiography before at follow-up. MTT defined as blood between end cervical portion (C1) C7 segment ICA. clinical prognosis assessed with Matsushima grading system, vessel reduction modified Rankin Scale (mRS). correlation parameter analyzed. Subgroup analysis conducted different presentations ages. Fifty-one identified imaging follow-up interval 5.5 months. ICA-MTT increased ( P < 0.001) compared contralateral Faster preoperative significantly associated improved mRS in ischemic group = 0.05). favorable neoangiogenesis 0.04), (> 50%) 0.023), score 0.008). In subgroup analysis, adult remained significant. cohort, bypass, there a positive outcomes. Color-coding DSA proved be useful quantitative serial method monitor postoperative courses MMD.
