Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using fresh water green alga Pithophora oedogonia (Mont.) Wittrock and evaluation of their antibacterial activity

ABSTRACT
In the present study, we report aqueous extract of Pithophora oedogonia to produce silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) by reduction nitrate. It was noted that synthesis process considerably rapid and were generated within few minutes ions coming in contact with algal extract. A peak at 445 nm corresponding plasmon absorbance AgNPs UV–vis spectrum medium contained ions. Scanning electron microscopic (SEM) dynamic light scattering analysis colloidal indicated size 34.03 nm. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy revealed strong signals region confirmed AgNPs. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic presence protein which regarding a capping agent surrounding Moreover, antibacterial activity synthesized exhibited potential inhibitory against seven tested pathogenic bacteria.
