ABSTRACT
Abstract A study of transonic buffet on the NASA Common Research Model at flight Reynolds numbers is presented. The ability two different hybrid RANS/LES models as well URANS approach for resolving three-dimensional motion was evaluated by means spectral analysis. Automated Zonal DES and simulations show similar results in terms frequency spanwise propagation cells, whereas Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation indicate a strong interaction between flow separation shock motion. extracted characteristic frequencies which are associated with located range Sr = 0.2–0.65 AZDES therefore accordance findings from related recent research. Furthermore, simulation time series were investigated structure moving cells varying convection speed wavelength could be observed.
