ABSTRACT
Abstract Despite large and successful efforts to keep wildlife off airports, many collisions between aircraft animals still happen at low altitudes outside the airport boundaries, where is most abundant. These strikes are especially threatening for departing from airports as well envisioned low-flying urban air mobility aircraft. The here presented study evaluates operational feasibility of a concept provide tower traffic controllers with strike risk information contribute in reduction these critical strikes. For this purpose, real-time human-in-the-loop simulations ten were performed 360° simulator. Based on controller feedback measures safety efficiency, findings indicate providing information. It expected that refinement procedures will pave way towards field-tests eventually actual implementation control involvement prevention.
