ABSTRACT
Mammary serine protease inhibitor (maspin, SERPIN-B5) is expressed in normal human mammary epithelial cells and known to be down-regulated during cancer progression. Aberrant maspin expression has been reported a number of cancers, including pancreatic ovarian cancer. Recently, we identified several genes that may tumor markers for gallbladder (GB) using DNA microarray method. There are no published data regarding GB The aims this study were determine mucosa, adenoma, dysplasia carcinoma GB, compare the pattern early advanced cancers. One hundred one patients with primary who underwent resection between March 1999 May 2008 included. Twenty-five adenomas 10 specimens also We performed tissue construction immunohistochemical staining evaluate expression. immunostaining results estimated semiquantitatively by pathologist. positive rate was 59.4% (60/101) cancer, whereas mucosa GB. In case expression, it gradually increased from carcinoma. No significant difference detected (49% versus 60%; P = 0.731). This result suggests involved dysplasia-carcinoma sequence steps carcinogenesis.
