In Mexico, manzano pepper (Capsicum pubescens) is a crop of economic importance. 2022, in the municipality Taxco de Alarcon, Guerrero, leaf spots were observed mazano crop. The fungus Alternaria spp., was consistently isolated from symptomatic pepper. A molecular characterization carried out by amplification and sequencing internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region ribosomal DNA, major allergen (Alt 1), anonymous gene (OPA10-2). BLAST analysis indicated similarity that varied 99.5 to 100% with arborescens sequences GenBank. phylogenetic using Maximum Likelihood method two isolates sp., obtained pepper, they clustered A.
