ABSTRACT
A high-sensitivity all-fiber temperature sensor based on a Sagnac interferometer is demonstrated by splicing section of polarization maintaining fiber (PMF) between two sections standard single mode fibers (SMFs). In this sensor, the SMF-PMF-SMF structure in loop bent into circle to enhance sensitivity. The length and curvature PMF are investigated can be optimized further increase sensitivity sensor. Results show that radius has an important effect upon due bend-induced birefringence variation PMF. with 30 mm exhibits 1.73 nm/°C. provided advantages easy fabrication, low-insertion loss, high sensitivity, which may find potential applications field precision measurement.
