ABSTRACT
The interface mechanical behavior of a monopile is an important component the overall offshore wind turbine structure design. Understanding soil—structure interaction, particularly initial stiffness, has significant impact on study natural frequency and dynamic response monopile. In this paper, simplified method for estimating monopiles under lateral loads proposed. Depending principle minimum potential energy virtual work theory, functions soil reaction components at are derived; MATLAB programming been used to simplify stiffness by fitting large number examples; then validated against field test data FDM results. This can modify modulus subgrade in p—y curve monopile-supported system.
