ABSTRACT
The Earth-Climate System Model (ECSM) is an important platform for multi-disciplinary and multi-sphere integration research, its development at the frontier of international geosciences, especially in field global change. research (R&D) ECSM China began 1980s have achieved great progress. In China, ECSMs are now mainly developed Chinese Academy Sciences, ministries, universities. Following a brief review history ECSMs, this paper summarized technical characteristics nine participating Coupled Intercomparison Project Phase 6 preliminarily assessed basic performances four models simulating climate East Asia. projected changes precipitation surface air temperature associated relationship with equilibrium sensitivity under shared socioeconomic path scenarios were also discussed. Finally, combined situation, from perspective further improvement, eight directions proposed future ECSMs.
