Bridging the Gap: Comparing Patient-Clinician Views on Treatment Goals and Communication in the Management of Atopic Dermatitis Within the Asia–Pacific Region

ABSTRACT
It remains unclear how patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) and clinicians perceive the level of patient–clinician communication if there could be potential lapses. This cross-sectional study aims to compare perspectives between AD dermatologists regarding treatment expectations in Asia. Moderate-to-severe practicing were recruited from eight Asia–Pacific territories, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand. Patients completed separate surveys designed elicit their management, perceived communication. also asked about satisfaction whether they prefer additional beyond what was prescribed. Demographic information responses analyzed using descriptive statistics. The reviewed by institutional review board each territory, all participants provided informed consent. A total 1103 271 surveys. Both largely aligned top goals management. However, greater proportions prioritized prevention exacerbation (78.0% versus 47.2%), minimization adverse effects (46.4% 9.1%), improvement mental health (16.0% 4.9%), compared dermatologists.
