ABSTRACT
Abstract The influence of arc energy and filler metal composition on the microstructure additively welded thin-walled structures duplex stainless steels was investigated using different commercially available standard superduplex solid wire electrodes commonly used today. As welding process, cold transfer (CMT) process used. cooling rate were varied by adjusting feed speed. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) carrier gas melt extraction (CGME) to determine chemical specimens. ferrite content determined both magnetic induction image analysis as a function wall height. In addition, microsections examined for intermetallic phases precipitations. Moreover, corrosion tests carried out according ASTM G 48, Method A. results indicate that an increase in leads longer t 12/8 times. Depending composition, this contents are partially outside values required ISO 17781. Furthermore, precipitates secondary austenite often found, which is attributed multiple reheating subsequent layers.
