ABSTRACT
The present communication reports the hydrogen storage characteristics of ZrMn2−xNi x laves phase hydrides. It is observed that promising materials can be tailored when “x” in range 1.5 ≤ ≥ 1. formed within this reversibly store ~2 to ~3 H/F.U. under manageable operating conditions. composition ZrMn0.5Ni1.5 found absorb and desorb room temperature. other two compositions ZrMn0.75Ni1.25 ZrMnNi ~3.6 release ~3.2 H/F.U., respectively. In each case, almost half effective capacity total stored 5 s Therefore, falling 1 are candidates for stationary device applications. correlation between compositions, structural–microstructural features thermodynamic data presented.
