ABSTRACT
The objective of this study was to pool, harmonise and re-analyse national accelerometer data from adults in four European countries order describe population levels sedentary time physical inactivity.Five cross-sectional studies were included England, Portugal, Norway Sweden. ActiGraph count centrally processed using the same algorithms. Multivariable logistic regression analyses conducted associations inactivity with sex, age, weight status educational level, both pooled sample separate samples.Data 9509 participants used. On average, for 530 min/day, accumulated 36 min/day moderate vigorous intensity activity. Twenty-three percent more than 10 h time/day, 72% did not meet activity recommendations. Nine all classified as high low active. Participants showed highest time, while England least physically Age positively associated meeting Men higher-educated people likely be highly sedentary, women lower-educated inactive. We found countries. Older obese most display these behaviours thus deserve special attention interventions policy planning. In monitor behaviours, accelerometer-based cross-European surveillance is recommended.
