ABSTRACT
Owing to the increasing demand for tribological brakes space applications, development of novel materials and advanced technologies is necessary. This paper presents design, characterization, realization powder metallurgy processed metal-matrix friction intended above-mentioned brakes. Selecting appropriate ingredients, which provides an effective way tailor properties material, evolving as a strategy meet design requirements. The behaviors material are experimentally investigated under different conditions, special attention focused on vacuum tribology. Examinations analyses surface subsurface corroborate wear mechanism. In addition, erosion resistances evaluated by exposure tests ultraviolet irradiation atomic oxygen. Finally, present potential applications also introduced based experimental studies.
