ABSTRACT
Abstract Friction and wear are unavoidable in mechanical movement. The use of lubricants with nano-additives can effectively reduce friction wear, which is great significance to saving energy protecting the environment. At present, progress has been made scientific research industrial application for lubricants. This paper mainly introduces types (such as carbon nanomaterials, nano-metals, nano-oxides, sulfides, complexes, polymers, etc.), tribological properties different components nano-additives, lubrication mechanisms (including tribofilm formation, rolling ball bearing effect, repairing polishing synergistic effect). It also deals dispersion influences their particle size microstructure on review outlines performance requirements states, discusses challenging working conditions, identifies various oil reference appropriate options diverse environments. Furthermore, existing problems prospects summarized. review, hopefully, would help shed light design synthesis novel high-performance promote engineering.
