ABSTRACT
Abstract The condition of the consumables is a key factor determining waste reduction in welding processes and quality welded joint. paper presents results tests four types flux-cored wires dedicated for high-strength steels, stored 1 month 6 months Poland two urbanized areas: large seaside city (Gdańsk) Warsaw, located center country. were subjected to macroscopic microscopic (stereoscopic, SEM) observations, EDS analysis, technological assessing elastic properties targetability. degree degradation was also tested using resistance measurements. In order assess effect storing on weldability steel, diffusible hydrogen content deposited metal determined by high-temperature extraction. It found that storage caused changes surface wires, affected their elasticity electrical properties, which affects behavior during welding. A significant influence conditions hydrogenation found: case three level low exceeded maximum result 15.18 ml/100 g metal. copper-plated wire showed significantly increased compared non-copper-plated wires.
