ABSTRACT
Abstract In this work, a dentary, and several teeth from the Valdepalazuelos-Tenadas del Carrascal site (Burgos, Spain) are studied. Geologically, this is situatedat base of Rupelo Formation (Cuenca de Cameros), Tithonian–Berriasian age. This formation has been interpreted as lacustrine-palustrine deposits with low gradient margins periodic changes in water level. MDS-VPCR,851 fragment rostral symphyseal zone right robust bone ridge on its lingual surface, large diameter foramina wide Meckelian canal extending rostroventral margin, semicircular symphysis arranged rostrolingually, two alveoli preserving erupting teetheach. Although functional have not preserved, each alveolus could contain one active tooth at least replacement teeth. Eight maxillary mandibular described, spatulate crown, rough enamel D-shaped croos-section, very marked cingulum. The dentary evident differences those other taxa specimens described Kimmeridgian-Berriasian Iberian Peninsula. Its greatest similarities Camarasaurus , but Valdepalazuelos there characters that seem to be unique differ taxon. Consequently. here identified belonging basal macronarian, close . work points existence macronarian sauropods transit Cameros Basin, increases diversity record time period.
