ABSTRACT
Abstract Karkheh river’s Delta is located in the west of Khuzestan Plain and can be divided into two smaller deltas; northern delta named as (including Bostan, Sableh Neisan Deltas) southern -e- Noor Delta. Based on Galloway7 classification, river-dominated type (type 1). Considering activity, this to parts; an active part north inactive south. Orton Reading 16 placed fine-grained (muddy) category due prevailing silt clay. In terms sediment transportation deposition process, a constructive delta. To recognize changes Delta’s area, Landsat images 5, 7 8 were studied compared using 13 satellite from 1973 2016 which shows increase delta’s area particularly part. order study sedimentology delta, 25 samples taken. Sediment sizing analysis results show that most abundant average whereas clay, sand gravel are next abundance. Due Shepard 17 silty clay silt, sandy clay-silt-sand identified. Also, channel, flood plain, crevasse, levee sabkha depositional environments could recognized
