ABSTRACT
Abstract As a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine, Descurainia sophia has various reported pharmacological activities such as prevention of chronic diseases, cardiovascular protection, neuroprotection, anticancer, antioxidant, and high nutritional values, but its mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) not been reported. In this study, the D. mitogenome was sequenced, assembled annotated using next generation sequencing technologies on Illumina HiSeq PacBio Sequel platform. The results showed that circular DNA molecule with length 265,457 bp GC content 44.78%, encoding unique 56 genes, including 35 protein coding 18 tRNA genes 3 rRNA genes. We analyzed codon preference, repeated sequences, sequence transformation, phylogenetic relationship, RNA editing synteny in mitogenome. Based sequences mitogenomes, analysis indicated more closely related to Boechera stricta , underwent frequent recombination. we obtained complete which can provide valuable data support for future studies genetic characteristics, relationships, species identification development new molecular markers .
