ABSTRACT
Abstract Reappraisal and mindfulness represent two fundamentally different but interconnected ways of dealing with one’s emotions: whereas reappraisal is aimed at changing thoughts emotions, not immediately changing, appreciating them. Despite this difference, prior research has shown that both are beneficial for affective well-being. However, on the spontaneous use in daily life found they might be differentially associated positive negative affect, mindful attention being more strongly increased affect acceptance decreased affect. Moreover, may less effective than given it cognitively taxing. To compare these possibly benefits (i.e., change affect) costs feeling depleted), we re-analyzed experience sampling studies ( N = 125 179).
