ABSTRACT
Population-based serological antibody test for SARS-CoV-2 infection helps in estimating the exposure community. We present findings of first district representative seroepidemiological survey conducted between 4 and 10 September 2020 among population aged 5 years above state Uttar Pradesh, India. Multi-stage cluster sampling was used to select participants from 495 primary units (villages rural areas wards urban areas) across 11 selected districts provide district-level seroprevalence disaggregated by place residence (rural/urban), age (5-17 years/aged 18 +) gender. A venous blood sample collected determine seroprevalence. Of 16,012 individuals enrolled study, 22.2% [95% CI 21.5-22.9] equating about 10.4 million were already exposed mid-September 2020. The overall significantly higher (30.6%, 95% 29.4-31.7) compared (14.7%, 13.9-15.6), + (23.2%, 22.4-24.0) 5-17 (18.4%, 17.0-19.9). No differences observed Individuals a COVID confirmed case or residing containment zone had (34.5% 26.0%, respectively). There also wide variation (10.7-33.0%) seropositivity indicating that not uniform at time study. Since 78% (36.5 million) these still susceptible infection, public health measures remain essential reduce further spread.
