ABSTRACT
Tunas are among the most economically important fish species and play critical roles in food composition nutrition of humans. As apex predators, they also keep marine ecosystem healthy balanced. Both natural human factors influence status this resource their habitats. There is a large cadre studies on how tunas great significance to exploitation management fisheries, yet there few summaries research. We aimed quantitatively qualitatively synthesize global knowledge structure emerging trends tuna research using bibliometric software. References with "Tuna", "Katsuwonus", or "Thunnus" as subject Web Science Core Collection Database from 1995 2019 were visually analyzed CiteSpace. Publication rate output, active countries, institutions, authors, co-cited references performed. Results suggested that number international papers increased significantly between 2000 2010, considerable high-impact articles emerged during period. Researchers paid more attention 19 main topics period, notably "overfishing", "bycatch", "climate change", "marine pollution", "fish management", which all posed potential risks challenges survival. Future should emphasize resolving these building cooperation for proper populations.
