ABSTRACT
This study was designed to investigate the effect of level and stability self-esteem on self-referent vs. other-referent feedback recall determine which opposed self-concept motives, self-enhancement or self-verification, will prevail in adolescents with certain type self- esteem. In a between-subjects experimental design, 450 high school graduates freshmen were randomly assigned task (n = 230) 220) their measured by repeated administration RSE scale. Findings confirm preferential processing self-related i.e. self-reference effect, regardless valence content-related domain feedback. condition also showed better than personally relevant feedback, level.
