ABSTRACT
<h2>Abstract</h2><h3>Background</h3> The American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology established an ad hoc committee to draft evidence-based recommendations clinical guidance for the application patient contact shielding during dentomaxillofacial imaging. <h3>Types Studies Reviewed</h3> reviewed monographs reports from radiation protection organizations studies that reported dose gonads, breasts, thyroid gland <h3>Results</h3> Considering absence radiation-induced heritable effects in humans negligible gonads fetus imaging, recommends discontinuing pelvic structures, fetuses all radiographic imaging procedures.
