ABSTRACT
Human dirofilariasis cases have increased in Europe for the last few decades. We document an autochthonous case of infection subconjunctival space a 60-year-old Spanish man.The patient presented with pain his right eye, which was diagnosed as epi-scleritis. In spite treatment administered, no improvement reported. An external exam showed conjunctival congestion on temporal part eye bulbar conjunctiva. The anterior chamber flare or cells both eyes and dilated fundus normal. Nevertheless, long whitish vermiform mobile mass detected under conjunctiva eye. worm surgically removed morphologically also molecularly Dirofilaria repens. This species uses dogs wild canids definitive hosts principal reservoirs, while mosquito are transmitters. Humans act accidental hosts, clinical manifestations depend location organs tissues.The correct diagnosis control subcutaneous/ocular by D. repens require several professionals One Health approach to deal this zoonotic disease, poses serious public health problem, at least Mediterranean Basin.
