ABSTRACT
To report a case of 67-year-old male who was successfully managed over 7-year period for descemetocele secondary to ocular graft versus host disease (oGVHD) using Prosthetic Replacement the Ocular Surface Ecosystem (PROSE) treatment. We previously reported on patient with PROSE device severe dry eyes oGVHD, subsequently developed central corneal descemetocele. The deemed poor surgical candidate due limbal stem cell deficiency oGVHD. Therefore, we elected closely monitor as continued therapy. patient's has been without perforation throughout follow-up corrected distance visual acuity remaining stable at 20/50 in affected eye. Descemetoceles are an uncommon complication disease. This is longest published PROSE. Our suggests that appropriate patients high-risk post-surgical complications, conjunction other medical management should be considered alternative transplantation.
