ABSTRACT
Irregular milking intervals in automated systems contribute to additional variation daily milk yield records comparison those derived from using regular intervals. Various methods have been developed estimate 24-h adjusted yields, though they are not well suited for the evaluation of serial data, particularly when span calendar days. The objective this study was develop a methodology yields by adjusting irregular Using data collected an system (AMS), total at given event and elapsed time previous entry into AMS were used calculate interval average rate secretion over that interval. Milking associated rates then realigned days allow proportional distribution spanned more than one day. method, decreased estimates visually similar typically observed with Estimates interval-adjusted strongly correlated calculated moving averages, suggesting method can comparable results established estimation test-day yield.
