ABSTRACT
The EncephalApp Stroop Test was developed to more easily diagnose minimal hepatic encephalopathy (MHE). A cut-off of >274.9sec (ONtime+OFFtime) reached a 78% sensitivity and 90% specificity in the validation study, but it has been poorly studied Brazil. We aim analyze usefulness this diagnostic method describe value screen MHE Brazil. In cross-sectional single-center three positive psychometric tests defined diagnosis as gold standard. evaluated gender, age, education, familiarity with smartphones, etiology cirrhosis, Child-Pugh/MELD scores, previous (HE). Healthy controls patients without HE were compared for task validation. Chi-square Mann-Whitney tests, logistic regression analysis, ROC curves used statistical evaluation. We included 132 cirrhosis (61% male) 42 (62% around 51y. Sixty-three diagnosed on 23 had clinical HE. Viral hepatitis (38%) major cirrhosis. median MELD 10 Child-Pugh frequent (70%). There no significant difference test results between also influence smartphones results. associated (p=0.0106). >269.8sec an 87% 77% detect (p=0.002).This is valid reliable tool screening MHE. However, optimal values need be validated locally.
