ABSTRACT
The objective of this study is to describe the relationship between injury incidence (IL) and maturity in male elite handball's player (HbP). Prospective during two seasons, evaluating sports injuries, status exposure time hours 133 young players, under UEFA methodology model for epidemiological studies. We discuss stage with different parameters, Tanner's stage, puberty stages, peak high velocity, testicular volume, bone age. Finally, 190 injuries a total 34.222 h were registered. average Injury Incidence (IIn) by categories was 5,6 injury/1000 exposure. competition: 21,8 injuries/1000 hs training: 3,1 without statistically significant IIn, chronological age ANOVA. multivariate statistical analysis registers tendency associations IIn competition category (P = 0,07), training Tanner 0,091) 0,021). In conclusion: there not difference ages handball players but significance respect some parameters analysis. This last result must be considered when planning seasons strategies prevention context formative handball.
