ABSTRACT
Satellite glial cells (SGCs) are among the most abundant non-neuronal in dorsal root ganglia (DRGs) and closely envelop sensory neurons that detect painful stimuli. However, little is still known about their homeostatic activities contribution to pain. Using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), we were able obtain a unique transcriptional profile for SGCs. We found enriched expression of tissue inhibitor metalloproteinase 3 (TIMP3) other metalloproteinases Small interfering neutralizing antibody experiments revealed TIMP3 modulates somatosensory decreased after paclitaxel treatment, its rescue by delivery recombinant protein reversed prevented paclitaxel-induced also established directly impacts signaling cultured SGCs, which may be used identify potential new treatments Therefore, our results reveal pathway SGCs proper processing stimuli discovery novel pain treatments.
