ABSTRACT
Multistage fractionation of pine bark was performed using subcritical and supercritical CO2 at increasing pressures temperatures. In total, seven fractions were collected, which demonstrated different enrichments families compounds. particular, yielded 41% the total extract in unsaturated fatty acids represented most abundant family. The subsequent five steps increased recovery sterol esters, wax esters resin higher temperatures pressures, reaching 80% extractable mass. last step, ethanol as a co-solvent, an additional 20% recovered, enriched with phenolics glycerol. A full characterisation extracts accomplished by high-temperature GC–MS/FID four internal standards, representative main classes compounds contained extract.
