ABSTRACT
Monitoring airflow rates and fluid dynamics phenomena in the ventilated cavity is a challenging aspect of experimental assessment performance double-skin facades (DSF). There are various methods to characterize fluid-dynamics behavior DSF, but each these has its advantages drawbacks. This paper presents characterization façade installed full-scale outdoor facility through methods, and, more specifically, it compares two tracer gas with velocity traverse method. In paper, we highlight how different results can be explained by considering features method, differences linked ranges airflows cavity. By discussing (i) challenges their applicability, (ii) requirements terms set-up (iii) limitations instrumentation, aim enhance discussion on for advanced building envelope contribute grounded understanding suitability in-field facades.
