ABSTRACT
Dried blood spot (DBS) sampling has many advantages over conventionally used samples, but is thought to suffer from hematocrit related issues. The aim of our research was investigate whether reliable results can be obtained without bothering about effects in DBS analysis analytes that are mainly present the plasma compartment. Venous samples with variation and spotted volume were prepared. Spot diameter 25-OH Vitamin D3 testosterone concentrations measured. Moreover, D3, determined random patient samples. size linearly hematocrit. Measured independent volume. Determining relation between concentration resulted a factor convert standardized concentrations. Addressing issue not necessary for hormones which makes interpretation easier.
